Astar Network unveils ‘Astar 2.0 Vision’ for mass adoption

Astar Network, a multichain smart contract platform, has introduced its “Astar 2.0 Vision,” intending to drive mass adoption of web3.

Astar 2.0 Vision

Astar Network aims to position itself as a leading layer 1 Blockchain. With increased interest from developers in Blockchain base layers that offer scalability, security, and interoperability, Astar Network aims to provide developers with the tools, resources, and support needed to build innovative decentralized applications (dapps).

With that long-term direction in mind, The “Astar 2.0 Vision” is set to grow the Astar ecosystem rapidly. It alters the network’s tokenomics, organizational structure, and technological pillars, aligning them to achieve the network’s mission of enabling web3 innovations that would empower billions of people worldwide.

To enhance the developer experience, the Astar 2.0 Vision focuses on two core technologies. Firstly, Astar supports both Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) and WebAssembly (WASM) environments, ensuring compatibility and interoperability through its Cross-Virtual Machine (XVM).

Secondly, Astar 2.0 introduces improved tokenomics that would provide more value to builders and stakers through dApp staking features.

The new tokenomics framework would include changes in the current token model. To achieve its goal of long-term sustainability, the Astar Foundation is engaging with its community to redesign notable aspects such as adjusting the inflation rate, the gas cost, and the reward structure for dApp staking. This would allow the network to serve the needs of network participants better.

In a comment, Sota Watanabe, the founder of Astar Network, said:

“We will push the network to unlock Web3 for billions. Each part of Astar 2.0 is being shaped and improved, starting with token economics and developer tooling to ensure the sustainable long-term growth of the network.”

Other Astar developments

The Astar Network introduced the Astar Link.

The feature allows limitless customization by enabling developers and users to connect fragmented layers within the blockchain industry.

With customized software development kits (SDKs), developers can unlock diverse use cases, ranging from gaming to enterprise applications, by linking different ecosystems and improving interoperability.

The Astar Network is being actively developed with the support of three key organizations. The first is Startale Labs, an enterprise focused on enabling users and businesses in Japan to embrace blockchain technology. Startale Labs utilizes web3 infrastructure to build innovative products that encourage widespread We’ve adoption.

The second is the Astar Foundation, vital in expanding the Astar Network through strategic partnerships, community activities, developer recruitment, project funding, and other initiatives. Finally, the Astar DAO is being actively formed with the assistance of the Astar community. The DAO would ensure decentralized governance, empowering individuals to use the Astar Network to improve their communities and ecosystems.
